Basic Physiology of Crossfit Style Training

Crossfit "metcons" introduce a unique blending of traditional weight training, gymnastic movements, and plyometrics combined to produce a high-intensity workout.  Metcons can last anywhere between 2-20minutes bridging the gap between the traditional energy-systems discussed in physiology textbooks.  The purpose of this article is to introduce the reader to some basic training physiology and how Crossfit fits within this framework.
